Our Teaching Program places volunteers in local schools and community centers, where they assist teachers in delivering lessons, leading classroom activities, and mentoring students. Program Duration and Ethical Commitment

At Ngong Hills Volunteers, we value responsible and ethical engagement with children. In line with international standards for child-focused programs, the minimum stay for this program is four (4) weeks. This ensures that both volunteers and students benefit from a stable, positive, and sustainable learning experience.



WHAT TO BRING…

You are not required to carry anything but if you want to donate towards a worthy course for the institution advancement feel free to do so. All you need to do is to notify us that you want to do so, so that we can offer our guidance towards the same.

Community Support Contribution

An additional USD 100 (one-time charge per volunteer) is directed to partner schools and community centers to enhance educational service delivery.

Volunteers wishing to extend beyond six weeks are welcome to do so. Each day’s extension is USD 35, and stays beyond seven additional days will require the applicable weekly fee. Volunteers should communicate their extension intentions at least one week before their scheduled end date.

VOLUNTEER FEE INCLUDES

  1. Accommodation & 2 meals (Breakfast and Dinner) Lunch is not provided as it coincides with work hours.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The minimum age to serve as an NHV Volunteer is 18 years old, however, there are specific requirements for children, and they must be accompanied by their parent(s) or guardian.
  • There may also be requirements of relevant professional and academic experience, as well as language proficiency depending on the program applied.
  • All Volunteers must display a commitment to the values and principles of and an ability to work in a multicultural environment and with local communities.
  • They should be prepared to adjust to lack of essentials like reliable internet at sometimes.
  • All Volunteers should be professional, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Volunteers must produce criminal background clearance certificate or what we call a CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT as a requirement to be accepted at NHV.
